Jacob’s new Bugatti Chiron watch looks like it has a supercar engine built in It is like a 16-cylinder engine on your wrist.
Jacob & Co. has released another time beast in the watch industry. This famous New York watchmaker has just launched a new high-complexity tourbillon inspired by the powerful Bugatti Chiron.
This watch is one of the few watches launched by the two luxury brands in a multi-year partnership that began in 2019. Like its predecessors, this watch is equipped with a functional miniature replica of Chiron’s W16-cylinder engine to please gasoline cars, although it doubles its bling.
In fact, this iteration is characterized by no less than 190 rectangular white diamonds, 109 rectangular black sapphires and 42 rectangular orange sapphires, all of which are hidden in the 18K white gold tonneau-shaped case. Jacob & Co. stated that gem setters use new proprietary and advanced techniques to properly fix rare gems. The case size is 55 mm x 44 mm, and it also has the same smooth lines as Chiron and many Bugatti logos to ensure a good size.
Just like the French brand’s curve embraces a supercar, this six-figure wrist candy has many precise engineering designs, including a flying tourbillon set at a 30-degree inclination. Similar to Chiron’s 8.0-liter 16-cylinder engine in real life, capable of providing 1,500 horses, the watch has 16 miniature pistons and a miniature solid steel crankshaft, which can move up and down like an ordinary grinder. At the same time, two “turbochargers” (four of the actual Bugatti) rotate in series to increase vitality.
The watch is again equipped with Jacob’s JCAM37 manual winding movement, which consists of approximately 578 components. It is suspended in four places, and its components are similar to Chiron’s actual car shock absorbers, which are clearly visible through the sapphire crystal window. The movement has a power reserve of 60 hours, indicated by the universal air pump symbol at 9 o’clock on the side of the instrument. swiss movement replica watches
