Crazy colorful watches from the Franck Muller Vanguard collection

January is full of amazing events related to the art world of high-end watchmaking. An alternative to the Geneva SIHH Salon 2019–The World of Haute Horlogerie introduced the 29th Salon a few weeks ago. Franck Muller introduced a new and colorful collection of high-end watches called Pioneer Crazy Hour™. WPHH Salon 2019 will be held at the Watchland venue in Genthod from January 15th to 19th.

The incredible Crazy Hours™ fashion watch series debuted in 2003, and until now, it is only available in the Cintrée Curvex case. This year, the bold Vanguard™ case introduced an unusual complication for the first time. The case is made of sturdy brushed steel, supplemented by a dial of the same reliable material. It is worth reminding that the highlight of this high-end watch series is the chaotic arrangement of numbers on the time scale. The apparent randomness is actually very deceptive: the numbers from 1 to 12 are placed on the dial in such a way that they form an arc of approximately 120° between them. One hour has passed, the hour hand will jump to the next digit, and the minute hand will measure time in normal mode.

The bright outline color of the hands is treated with a fluorescent coating, which echoes the color of the numbers and lines on the strap made of real alligator leather. Avid connoisseurs of high-end watches can choose models with yellow, red, blue and green hour markers.

This unforgettable chronograph is equipped with a movement with a jumping hour hand, a patented development by the talented Franco-Moulin watch master. Inside the case (44 x 53.7 x 13.7 mm), its shape is between a rectangle and a cushion, and is equipped with a precisely working FM 2800 CH movement, powered by an automatic winding and a good 42-hour power reserve.
