Bremont Regatta OTUSA

We introduced Bremont copy Watches in an interview with co-founder Giles English and were interested in their work at Silverstone, England and Henry on Thames. In that interview, we discovered that the roots of Bremont lie in aviation. We strongly recommend that you read that interview. This year, we also discovered that the brothers are also rooted in the sailing business. Therefore, with great interest, they announced their appointment as the official timekeeper of the America’s Cup and the current America’s Cup defender, Oracle USA. Through this cooperation, Bremont has created a special racing timekeeping watch, which particularly reflects the importance of the countdown function during the race. This is our review of the Bremont Regatta OTUSA watch, with special mention of the Bremont Regatta AC.

The America’s Cup is the oldest international sports trophy and is still being held today. The format of the game is quite interesting. Only two teams participated in the competition, and each team sent a yacht. The defender represents the yacht club currently hosting the America’s Cup. The second yacht, called the Challenger, represents the yacht club of the Challenge Cup. The trophy awarded to the winner is affectionately called the “Auld Mug” and was originally awarded by the Royal Yacht Squadron in 1851 for a race near the Isle of Wight in England and won by Schooner America. After the yacht and guardianship were handed over to the New York Yacht Club in accordance with the terms of the gift contract, the trophy was renamed the America’s Cup, making the cup available for permanent international competitions.

The current owner of Auld Mug is the US Oracle team, who secured the trophy in the 2013 duel with the New Zealand Chiefs. The two watch brands sponsoring the 2013 competition are Oracle’s TAG Heuer and the long-term cooperation Omega and Kiwi. TAG Heuer has since changed its strategy and now refocuses on racing and the New York Marathon, while Larry Ellison’s Oracle team is looking for new watch sponsors. Bremont now fills this position. The next game will be held in Bermuda in 2017. For the Oracle USA team, as a guard, the crew will wear Bremont watches. In fact, the team now wears Bremont watches during training and at the beginning of the Louis Vuitton Cup competition. As the qualifying is about to begin, the challenger is still unknown. replica watch price

time requirement
Bremont has been appointed as the official timing partner of the 35th America’s Cup and the defending champion Oracle of America. At the Baselworld, they released two special watches: Bremont Regatta AC (limited to 235 pieces in steel and 135 pieces in rose gold) and Bremont Regatta OTUSA titanium case, black or white dial, limited to 235 pieces Each).

Regatta watches need to provide a countdown to the start time of the yacht race. Sailing starts from rolling. The starting line is an imaginary line between the two buoys. The boat maneuvered nearby, waiting for the cannon to fire to signal the start of the race. Only in this way can they cross the line and start the game. Boats gathered around the starting area, and race officials announced the start of the countdown via an air horn every five minutes. Updates are announced every five minutes, until the last five minutes, announced every minute, and the last 10 seconds countdown.

For the captain and crew, even if the ship has a central digital clock, it is helpful to wear a watch on his wrist to count down. The boat is always moving, and the captain needs to steer his boat to the best possible position so that when the signal to start the race is given, he can prepare for the race. If he can’t get as close as possible to the starting line when the signal sounds, he will lose a few precious seconds. If he crosses too early, he may be punished or even disqualified. replica swiss watches

Bremont Yacht Race OTUSA

The Bremont Regatta OTUSA is a chronograph with special regatta functions. The watch has three countdown holes on the dial, as well as a 15-minute “countdown” window and a 12-hour totalizer. These functions are designed to help the captain arrange time for his maneuvers so that he can cross the starting line and get as close as possible to the gunfire.

Case, dial and hands
The case is a derivative product of the Boeing version of Bremont and consists of a three-part structure, including the bezel/lugs, the middle case and the back cover. The bidirectional rotating bezel has a turbine-like textured surface on its vertical side. The same turbine-like striped texture was also found on the side of the pusher.

The case is made of satin-finished titanium, with a Bremont Trip-Tick structure and a highly scratch-resistant DLC treatment. As a tribute to the OTUSA ship that won in 2013, the crown has a carbon fiber. The carbon fiber is taken from the AC72 yacht foil that won the Cup in 2013. For yacht lovers, this is a cool feature.

The finishing of the case is flawless and very beautiful.

As a special function of the regatta timing, the dial has three small holes instead of the 12 o’clock counter. The small hole on the right shows a countdown dial, which is activated when the chronograph is started, moves half a position every 30 seconds, and counts down from 5-4-3-2-1, changing from red to blue. The aperture on the left shows another part of the disc, at the end of the five-minute interval, from blue to white characters with the word “START” displayed in red. The last aperture is near the center of the dial, where the axis of the hour/minute/chronograph seconds hand is located. This recurring 15-minute counter with a chronograph is to be consistent with the interval broadcast by the game official to mark the start interval. hyt skull fake

When the hour and minute hands are close to 12 o’clock, the regatta counter may be blocked. Maybe if Bremont uses a hollow pointer, this may be alleviated..

The operation of the timer button is very good. Not as light as one would expect from a column wheel chronograph, but for some reason, it feels subjectively lighter than an ordinary 7750 chronograph. The turbo knurling and push rod (tightened) on the crown provide easy and non-slip grip even in humid environments. We don’t know whether the chronograph can be operated underwater, but as a marine watch, this function is not important.

Movement BE-17E

The movement was named Bremont BE-17E, a modified Valjoux 7750. The modification was done by Bremont’s partner, La Joux Perret, Switzerland. The main modification that we can recognize on the standard 7750 is the 12 o’clock regatta counter. This is not as easy as it seems at first glance. The left and right aperture display may be a single disc printed with 5-1 on one side and blue /START on the other side. The third aperture may show another disc, which is located on the circumference of the first disc and rotates every 15 minutes.

The movement has passed the COSC certification and uses the usual 28,800 bph and 42-hour power reserve beats of Valjoux donors.

The movement finishing is not spectacular, but it is consistent with the utility watch. Although there are machine-made pearls and Côtes de Genève on the movement, no special handmade decoration is applied. The rotor is engraved with the words “AMERICA’S CUP” and has a wave pattern.

Competitive landscape
It seems to be competitive for sports chronographs. But we think it only makes sense to compare with other watches with a regatta countdown function, and the landscape has become much thinner. The previous and current sponsors of the team competing for Auld Mug may be a good starting point.

Bremont Regatta OTUSA watches are beautifully designed. Aesthetics is typical of the British. Quiet, noble, and a bit weird. As a 43mm sports watch, it is very comfortable to wear, the titanium case is very light, and the design feels good on the wrist. The curved lugs and flexible Temple Island rubber strap create this feeling.
