Franck Muller Vanguard Skeleton Color Dreams Is a Rave of the Wild

Ever wonder what happens when you throw a color wheel at a watch of great craftsmanship and precision? Well, we recently found out. Franck Muller fake had a healthy two-decade relationship with color, marked by the release of the first Color Dreams watch at the turn of the millennium. From Crazy Hours to Color Dreams eau de parfum, the collection’s vibrant signatures have found success across the brand’s line. Franck Muller Vanguard Skeleton Color Dreams, seen in this video by Andrew, extends the concept from its digital origins to the lattice-like structure of the bridge deck.

Main attractions, courtesy of colorful movements
It would be remiss of me to talk about the dial and movement of the Vanguard Skeleton Color Dreams separately because they are essentially the same in this watch. Multicolored anodized aluminum bridges stand proudly beneath domed sapphire crystal glass. Hues of red, orange, blue and purple grace the hand-chamfered and mirror-polished bevels, while the wheels, small seconds markers and hands come in more colour.

There are markers around the small scale ring, mainly indicating minutes, model number and power reserve – all alternating colors, of course. All of this makes reading it rather difficult. However, speaking of intent, if your main intent for this post is to accurately time the time, I’m sorry to say, but your intent is misplaced. Part of what caused this paint can explosion was the movement, more of which can be seen through the display case. Designated FM 1740-VS2, it has a 7-day power reserve from twin barrels, fed to the gear train by an internal escapement beating at 18,000 vph. In addition to the aforementioned hand-finishing, it also has polished mainplate and bridge grooves, and the small chassis is satin-finished on one side and micro-blasted on the other.

Stealthy, lightweight housing
The Vanguard’s curved case is machined from a single sheet of carbon that stacks and compresses against each other, rather than using the traditional carbon weave you might find on a luxury sports car. The pattern is clearly visible, especially on the side, reminiscent of the pattern of Damascus steel knives.

Much like any other Vanguard case, the Skeleton Color Dreams feature a seam that bisects the side of the case. The model we were lucky enough to photograph had a yellow anodized aluminum insert, but it’s also available in orange and red. The overall case measures 42.50mm and 52.70mm lug-to-lug, and its curved nature helps make the large size easier to wear. The 12.60mm height also helps, reducing visual bulk, which is further aided by the overall airy feel brought about by the wide openwork movement.

The one-piece leather strap has stitching to match the case insert and a PVD-coated folding clasp, while the carbon case and black strap’s dark gray muted tone really helps to complement the colorful dial. fake luxury watches
