New Seiko Astron GPS Solar-Powered Dual Time Zone Chronographs

Experience the New Seiko Astron GPS Solar-Powered Dual Time Zone Chronographs HAB001, HAB002, HAB003, and Limited Edition HAB004

To commemorate its 145th anniversary, Seiko has launched a newly upgraded Astron GPS Solar-Powered Dual Time Zone Chronograph series.

Over two years ago, Seiko launched its first Astron GPS Solar-Powered Dual Time Zone Chronograph. Since then, the brand has released upgraded versions featuring new materials and color schemes. To celebrate its 145th anniversary, Seiko has completely revamped the Astron GPS Solar-Powered Dual Time Zone Chronograph. The new watches feature new cases and movements, representing a comprehensive upgrade to the series. Four new watches have been launched. HAB001, HAB002, and HAB003 are regular models, while HAB004 is a 145th-anniversary limited edition. We had the opportunity to experience all four watches firsthand.

Fans of the Seiko Astron GPS Solar Dual Time Chronograph series will immediately notice several changes. First and foremost is the completely redesigned case. However, those familiar with the Astron series will also recognize its many similarities to previous models. Therefore, the introduction of the new case is a natural improvement. The upgraded case measures 43.4 mm in diameter and 12.4 mm in thickness, and all four watches are crafted from titanium with an ultra-hard coating. The design features a multifaceted profile and is equipped with a newly introduced two-piece octagonal titanium bezel. The top of the bezel is brushed, while the sides are polished. Ultimately, this surface treatment perfectly accentuates the case’s shape.

The updated dial design of the Astron GPS Solar Dual Time Chronograph

Another visual difference compared to the previous generation is the new dial layout. The previous generation featured subdials at 6, 9, and 12 o’clock, while the new design is more balanced, with subdials at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock for a more comfortable visual effect. This is thanks to the introduction of the new Seiko 5X63 movement, which replaces the 5X83 movement used in the previous generation. Besides the layout change, the order of the subdials has also been adjusted. Shopping replica watches

Firstly, the main time is displayed in the center of the dial, while the secondary time zone is displayed on a subdial at 6 o’clock. As with previous models, the wearer can switch time zones by simultaneously pressing two buttons for three seconds. However, once the chronograph function is activated, the same subdial becomes a chronograph counter, displaying the elapsed hours and minutes. However, there is a significant change to the chronograph function: the new subdials adopt a 24-hour layout. Therefore, Seiko’s designers have eliminated the AM/PM indicator. Furthermore, in chronograph mode, the chronograph counter displays the elapsed hours and minutes for the entire day.

Secondly, the multi-function subdial displaying the day of the week, chronograph function, charging status, and flight mode has been moved from the 9 o’clock position to the 3 o’clock position. Additionally, the subdial at 9 o’clock now displays the elapsed time of the chronograph function, accurate to 1/20th of a second. In the previous generation, this sub-dial was located at 12 o’clock. The date window was positioned between the 4 and 5 o’clock markers, the same as the previous generation.

All three sub-dials feature a concentric circle texture, contrasting sharply with the newly designed dial. The dial is adorned with an intricate pattern of intersecting triangles, adding to its visual impact. Furthermore, the dial doubles as a solar charging panel to charge the watch. The dial retains the minute markers, stainless steel hour markers, and a bezel with UTC time markings. The hour markers have been redesigned to perfectly match the dial style and are coated with more LumiBrite luminous material. This ample luminous coating ensures easy readability in the dark.

The new Seiko 5X63 movement

In addition to the functions displayed on the sub-dials, the new in-house 5X63 movement retains the same functions as its predecessor, such as automatic time adjustment when the wearer crosses time zones. Furthermore, if the watch loses its automatic adjustment signal, relevant information will be displayed on the dial. Finally, even without a signal, the movement’s monthly error is only ±15 seconds. https://www.chrono-wrist.co.uk

The new movement is a significant improvement over its predecessor. The layout has been changed from vertical to horizontal, making it more practical. Furthermore, the rearranged display makes the time reading sequence more logical. Therefore, I must highly commend the Seiko team for their upgrades to the movement and design, which undoubtedly benefit the wearer.

145th Anniversary Edition HAB004
Let’s examine these four watches one by one, starting with the limited edition HAB004. It features a bright silver main dial, paired with blue second markers and blue sub-dials. This color scheme creates a clean and modern visual effect that is truly eye-catching.

This watch comes with a lightweight titanium bracelet and an exclusive blue and white two-tone silicone strap. Thanks to the new quick-release system, changing the strap is exceptionally easy. Simply press a button to easily remove the strap or bracelet.

After changing the strap, a gentle press securely fastens it. Seiko’s design is commendable, as this new system makes changing the strap and bracelet exceptionally easy. It’s one of the most efficient systems on the market.

Three Standard Production Models Join the Lineup

In addition to the commemorative edition watches, Seiko will be adding three new watches to its regular product catalog. The first is the HAB001, featuring a full titanium case and a blue-grey dial. The second is the HAB002, also with a full titanium case but a black dial. The last is the HAB003, also with a black dial, but with a gold bezel, markers, and hands. This watch also comes with a black silicone strap.

For me, of the three standard production models, the one with the black dial and metal bracelet is definitely my first choice, as it perfectly matches my aesthetic. However, I must say, the one with the black dial and gold accents also has its own unique charm. Especially when paired with the black silicone strap, the effect is stunning. Discount fake watches

Wearing the New Seiko Astron GPS Solar-Powered Dual Time Zone Chronograph Collection

I had the opportunity to try on the new Astron GPS Solar-Powered Dual Time Zone Chronograph collection, and it far exceeded my expectations. Despite the slightly larger case size and more angular overall shape, these watches are incredibly comfortable to wear. From the moment I put them on, their ergonomic design and balanced proportions captivated me. Furthermore, the clever combination of finishes adds a touch of sophistication, making them irresistible. The new titanium bracelet is exquisitely crafted, featuring a folding clasp and Seiko’s Easy Adjust system, allowing for easy adjustment to the perfect size.

Overall, I was very impressed with the new Seiko Astron GPS Solar-Powered Dual Time Zone Chronograph collection. Initially, seeing the larger case size and angular design, I wasn’t sure if the new model would surpass the old one in terms of design and wearing comfort. However, once I put the watches on my wrist, my doubts vanished.

These best fake watches are incredibly comfortable to wear, thanks to the lightweight titanium material, making them exceptionally easy to put on. The completely redesigned dial layout and rearranged functions represent a significant improvement over the previous generation. This is truly a remarkable achievement!
