GREUBEL FORSEY DOUBLE TOURBILLON 30 ° TECHNIQUE ceramic watch
The Greubel Forsey brand has made a few of us the best watch manufacturers in the world. Its timeless Double Tourbillon watch has once again emerged, and now it uses relaxing sapphires. Every time I make a blue-themed watch, I especially want to mention that blue is the current popular theme in watchmaking. Well, it seems that Bucherer is not the only brand willing to “bring some extra money” by making the watch blue. However, Greubel Forsey did this with a first-class level and exquisite watchmaking skills. Please note that this is not a Bucherer watch.
Greubel Forsey’s production line has a history of 15 years. That’s right, the Double Tourbillon 30 ° Technique made its debut at the Basel International Watch and Clock Fair in 2004. During those 15 years, we saw many different watch variants. However, this is the first time we have seen it made of blue ceramic. This is an excellent watch case (no pun intended), which we will talk about later, but it should be noted that for most people, this watch has a drawback: the size of the case. It has a diameter of 48.4 mm and a thickness of 17.8 mm, which is too large for some people. Fortunately, since the ceramic case is undoubtedly lightweight, weight will not be an issue.
The dial (if you can call it this way) combines avant-garde design with traditional watchmaking. At least in my opinion, no one can attract attention. At the top is the barrel with the barrel engraved, the power reserve indicator is at 3 o’clock, and at 6 o’clock is Greubel Forsey, now a legendary double tourbillon, which will be installed one at another at 30 degrees The tourbillon in the tourbillon is combined, and two tourbillons are made in it. One. There is a blue seconds dial at 9 o’clock, which is very good.
The pointer is installed in the center, hollowed out, and has a lu tip, making it a practical watch in the dark. The most unusual feature that may take a while to discover is the extensive use of sapphire crystals in the movement. The tourbillon looks like it is floating, fixed in place by its own gravity, but it is mounted on the sapphire bridge. The sapphire fixture is still on the top cover of the barrel, holding it in place, while the external markings float on its own sapphire. All in all, whether technically or aesthetically speaking, this is a very attractive design.
Double Tourbillon 30 ° Technique is the iconic watch of independent brand Greubel Forsey and has long been a favorite of collectors. Only when noble materials are usually provided, the watch now joins the 21st century thanks to the brand new blue ceramic case designed exclusively for the US market. In addition, the movement of the watch has been completely rebuilt and reconfigured-using a lot of sapphire elements to achieve amazing transparency.
This marks the first time Greubel Forsey has made a case with high-tech ceramics. The stunning blue tone is reminiscent of the colors on the American flag. It is made of only 11 pieces and the number is very limited.
The original Double Tourbillon 30 ° Technique was the idea of Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey in 1999. It wasn’t until 2004 that this technology was realized – proving the complexity and superb technical level of this watch swiss. The tourbillon escapement can compensate for timing errors caused by the effect of gravity on the wrist at certain positions.
The patented 30 ° double tourbillon has two tourbillon cages: a single cage that can rotate for four minutes, and a second smaller cage with balance wheel and spring assembly, which is located at Inside the cage. The small cage is tilted 30 degrees and rotates every 60 seconds. The inclination of the tourbillon escapement and different speeds work together to improve accuracy.
Inside the movement are multiple three-dimensional sapphire bridges-each made from a single sapphire block. The process of creating a bridge requires hundreds of hours of processing time. The sapphire bridge provides a clearer view of the movement and escapement.
In addition, because sapphire is fragile and may break, all sapphire bridges are specially installed to absorb impact. The sapphire crystal back cover allows viewing of complex movements. Each of the 421 parts of the hand-wound mechanical movement are meticulously finished by hand in the typical Greubel Forsey style.
On one side of the dial, the blue element is actually gold and the surface is blue to complement the blue ceramic case. The diameter of the ceramic case is 48.40mm, which is also a remarkable feat. The material is compression molded before firing. However, the sintered casing becomes very scratch and corrosion resistant.
The top luxury replica watches provides hours and minutes, small seconds, a 120-hour power reserve on the sector display, and two tourbillon escapements. The timepiece is equipped with a blue rubber strap and is water resistant to 30 meters.
