Bugatti Chiron 16-cylinder tourbillon by Bugatti and Jacob & Co.
Gearheads, this copy watches for sale is for you. It boasts a dizzying array of mechanical features, including 16 cylinders with actual moving pistons, designed to mimic the Bugatti Chiron’s engine. I recently broke the news about this watch in my Perfect Time column on Forbes.com, but let’s take a closer look at it now. This is the third watch released to celebrate the collaboration between these two powerful brands.
Meet the Jacob & Co. Bugatti Chiron 16-cylinder Tourbillon engine
“To capture the spirit and energy of the high-performance Bugatti Chiron, Jacob & Co. spent about a year in the development phase before unveiling the new $280,000 Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon. The movement of the engine, complete with crankshaft and pistons. In fact, the 16-cylinder piston engine with manual winding movement is composed of a large number of 578 hand-assembled parts.”
In addition to providing hours and minutes, the movement of the Jacob & Co. Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon is equipped with a newly designed one-minute tourbillon carriage inclined at 30 degrees. This inclination provides an excellent view of the constantly rotating escapement, and it compensates for timekeeping errors due to the effect of gravity on the watch when the watch is in certain positions on the wrist. The development of this new escapement, visible through the Bugatti grille-like hole in the dial, itself took a full year.

The Shopping men watch is equipped with a button on the right side of the case, and when activated, the crankshaft spins and pushes the pistons up and down – just like a car engine. There are also two turbochargers that spin while the engine is running. A stainless steel crankshaft is one of the smallest and most complex parts to manufacture.

Housed in a powerful black titanium case inspired by the lines of the Chiron, the watch has an overall stealthy allure despite its bulk. With the impressive sapphire crystal allowing the wearer to see the engine inside, this watch is like wearing a car on your wrist. Even the sides of the case are sapphire for a better view of all the moving parts. The EB (Bugatti) logo appears on the engine compartment and the Jacob & Co. logo appears on the flying tourbillon. The crow used to set the time and wind the movement is located at the bottom of the case. The watch comes with a black rubber strap. Essentially, aside from the black case and steel parts, the only real color is the Chiron blue hands and certain movement parts.
