Titanium case, brown dial, calfskin strap, Ø42 MM, self-winding mechanical movement
With the Chronotimer Flyback in 1919, Porsche Design expanded its 1919 series to include chronographs with rare and complex flyback functions and chronograph certificates.
In terms of appearance, Porsche design relies entirely on sportiness, subtle elegant touch and maximum functionality. The dial of the Chronotimer Flyback in 1919 followed the Porsche design philosophy. The focus here is on simple purism and perfect reading. The accumulators for the 12 o’clock of the chronograph minute and the 6 o’clock of the chronograph hour are large and clearly laid out.
The brown dial color, the selected contrast between the white application and the luminous coating of the main hands and hour markers also optimizes readability. For the 42mm case, Porsche Design relies entirely on titanium. High-tech materials not only guarantee the highest comfort, especially long service life and excellent skin resistance, they are also 40% lighter than stainless steel, and have been successfully used in racing engine manufacturing for decades. The 1919 Chronotimer Flyback was mounted on a brown calfskin strap and secured with a button buckle.
Internally, the Porsche Design 1919 Chronotimer Flyback has a self-winding movement 01.200, which was jointly developed by Porsche Design in Switzerland with its partners for three years and has been put into mass production since September 2018.
This internal movement not only has a technologically advanced flyback function, but also has excellent accuracy, as evidenced by the official COSC certificate of the Swiss Chronograph Control Center (COSC). Porsche’s racing DNA is undeniable. Porsche adopts a typical design method, all parts of the movement (such as the bottom plate, various bridges, balance pistons or rotors) are coated with a matte black PVD coating.
With the Chronotimer Flyback designed by Porsche in 1919, the wrist of “Mann” is equipped with a flyback chronograph, which not only impresses people with its uncompromising function, discreet elegance and innovative materials, but also has absolute Exclusive high-performance automatic movement.
Like all Porsche Design copy watches, the Porsche Design 1919 Chronotimer Flyback case is made entirely of titanium. The characteristics of titanium materials are light, durable, strong and skin resistant. Sports, the pure 1919 Chronotimer Flyback sports case has a diameter of 42 mm and a height of 14.6 mm, which is very suitable for men’s wrists.
Particularly eye-catching is the breakthrough of the lugs of the 1919 series watches, which strengthened the functional appearance of the 1919 Chronotimer Flyback and fully complies with the lightweight construction principle of the Porsche brand. Porsche Design chose a dome-shaped, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass for the watch glass, which has a seven-fold anti-reflective coating on both sides to ensure the best reading effect.
The 1919 Chronotimer Flyback tourbillon case can be water-resistant to 100 meters and is equipped with a crown that is easy to tighten. The chronograph button is easy to use due to its slim shape. In 1919, the Chronotimer Flyback screw-in caseback is equipped with a sapphire glass window, through which the wearer can cheap men watch the exclusively manufactured movement.
The streamlined structure of the Chronotimer Flyback dial in 1919 was Porsche design throughout, with a focus on the basic elements. The totalizers for the 12 o’clock of the chronograph minute and the 6 o’clock of the chronograph hour are large and clearly laid out, so the stop interval can be easily read.
In order to check the function, Porsche Design uses a seconds dial, which rotates at 9 o’clock under the semicircular cutout of the dial. The carefully selected brown and white color contrast and the luminous coating on the hour markers and hour and minute hands ensure the best readability during the day, night, and poor visibility.
The hands of the chronograph are red, so it is completely different from the normal time display. There is a discreet black date window on the dial at 4 o’clock. Porsche Design puts the trajectory of the minute on the reed.
Porsche designed the Chronotimer Flyback in 1919 to be worn on a sturdy brown calfskin strap. The decorative seams also remain brown. The close transition from the characteristic hollow lugs to the bracelet is undoubtedly Porsche design. The calfskin strap is equipped with a robust titanium button buckle.
The exclusive automatic movement WERK 01.200, which worked on the Chronotimer Flyback in 1919, set a new standard in performance and efficiency. This movement is a chronograph movement with a complex flyback mechanism that can measure continuous intervals. The 4 Hz self-winding movement is the result of three years of development. Together with its Swiss partners, Porsche Design combines all its watchmaking and engineering expertise and vehicle development expertise.
The racing DNA did not leave any traces on the 1919 Chronotimer Flyback’s automatic movement 01.200. A typical Porsche design is an integral part of the movement, such as the bottom plate, various bridges, balanced pistons or rotors, and matt black PVD coating. The robust, unmistakable Porsche Design Icon rotor with tungsten counterweights improves elevator performance.
Following Porsche’s lightweight construction principle, the mainspring bridge of the movement has also been framed to reduce weight and highlight the flyback function and gear train. According to the activation of the timer function, the power reserve is up to 48 hours.
